Mallard, who is the fastest steam locomotive in the United Kingdom, has a streamlined design which is wind tunnel tested. He once held a speed record of 126mph (203km/h), therefore making him one of the fastest locomotives in the world! So far, he first appeared in the April Fools Update.

- Unlike his brother, Spencer, Mallard has side valences partially covering his wheels. Spencer does not have side valences, much like how the A4s looked from 1941 up to withdrawal.
- Olwin, a character from Chuggington, is based on Mallard because she has a double-chimney, much like Mallard does.
- Mallard holds the official record for being the fastest steam engine of all time.[1]
